The City of Medicine Lake is nestled in the western suburbs on the large peninsula within Medicine Lake, the second largest lake in the Twin Cities. Metropolitan Council requires cities to update their Comprehensive Plan every 10 years. Medicine Lake's current Comprehensive Plan was updated 2019. The purpose of a Comprehensive Plan is to provide an inventory and analysis of existing conditions and future needs, identify a vision for the future, and explore possibilities for a community's social and physical changes.
